Editing Songs

For each song in your Planning Songs library, there are several customization options to make note of: Media, Music Stand PDF Attachments, Lyrics, and ChordPro®.

To get to these options, choose a song from your Songs library, then click Edit in the top right corner of the song's page.

Media

Link YouTube videos, upload .mp3 files, or choose from the provided Spotify and Apple Music options to curate a selection of recordings for listening and rehearsal purposes. These files will be accessible to scheduled team members on the Services > Rehearse tab when the given song is added to a service. This helps ensure that your team references and learns the same version of the song, as there are often various versions of the same song out there. (If you link more than one version/arrangement, you can specify which one the team should reference for the given service on the Notes section of that service item.)

Music Stand PDF Attachments

Here, you can upload supplemental PDF attachments for viewing in the Music Stand mobile app. In Music Stand, these attachments will be available under the Custom Attachments view option.

The SongSelect connection only allows WE to import lyrics and chords into our apps. In order to use lead or vocal sheets in Music Stand, download the song PDFs to your device directly from the SongSelect website, then manually upload those files here. Alternatively, you can upload attachments directly in the Music Stand app and those attachments will show here in Planning.

Lyrics

Type or copy&paste song lyrics, separated by section. The sections would be the verses, chorus, bridge, etc. of the song.

Tip: Presenter will build your slides based on how you create/edit your sections here, so organize the sections as you would want the slides to be split. For example, if you want to project four lines per slide, you may only need one section for each verse, chorus, etc. If you want only two lines per slide, you may need to split verses, choruses, etc. into "a" and "b" sections (pictured below).

ChordPro®:

In the ChordPro® tab, click Edit to open the built-in ChordPro® editor. Any changes made here will be implemented in Music Stand, and vice versa. When you close out of the ChordPro® editor, keep in mind your changes are not saved until you hit the red Save button on the top right of the Song - Editing page. Learn more about ChordPro® formatting here.
