Song Lyrics and Video Presentations

April 24, 2019
Hello,

I have 2 questions. The first involves song lyrics. At times, our song leader does not "stick to the script" and does a verse or chorus that was not planned for. I think spontaneity is great, but it makes it hard sometimes to get the screen right. Currently, we set all the default slides and run the songs that way. However, if the leader does something different, we have to find where to go or don't have the verse on the screen at all (it wasn't included in the default slide setup). What's the best way to resolve this? Looking for some advice.

My second question involves video. Most of the videos we run are in 16:9 but our screen is 4:3. On the lyric backgrounds, we have the setting as "stretch" or "scale" to fill the whole screen since it doesn't really affect the background video that much. However, if we run a video of some kind during the service, we change the setting to "original". However, this past Sunday, the video was still cut off on the sides. We couldn't resolve this issue. What could be the problem with that? So we know going forward.

Hi Chris-

Because Worship Extreme uses extended desktop, you can skip around a song by just clicking on the slide the worship leader goes to, even if it's not the next slide.

For videos, set them to "Scale". That will size them to fit your screen without distorting them like "Stretch" does.

Thanks for the response, Adam.

If the slides are put together as "default" slides, it only shows the slides that were chosen. If the leader deviates from the default list, there isn't a way to pull up the missing slide. As far as I know at least.

Does "scale" keep the original dimensions of the video, or does it zoom it in to fit a 4:3 screen? I'm just wanting to get the best picture without cutting anything off.

If you set a default song order, you'll want to make sure you include all slides, otherwise unused slides will be hidden. Maybe include them at the end just incase they are used.

"scale" will scale the video to the fit the screen without distorting it. So if it's a small video, it will zoom in to fit the screen and if it's a large video, it will zoom out to fit the screen.

Awesome, I like your advice on the lyrics. I'll definitely try that out.

If I "scale" the video, and there is text within the video (subtitles or something), will these be cut off since the video is zoomed in?

No, the full frame of the video will be shown.
