Pads on songs

Worship Tutorials offer what they call Pads which can be played in the background to any song in any key. It enhances the song 10 fold. 
They suggest using propresenter as you can attach an MP3 to the lyrics and have it play through the entirety of changing slides etc. 
When moving between songs or changing the last slide to a video the backing track fades out and either stops or fades into the next song backing track. 

Does WE operate in the same way?

A background audio track will play while on a cue.  If you fire a different cue the audio will fade out.  A song should all be under one cue, so you should be good there.
