I need to overlay text on some media such as jpg's, gif's etc. Am I correct in saying that that is unable to be done with WE's media within WE. I can use MS PowerPoint to import WE media from the library, overlay text and all is well, except that WE won't recognize the media from PowerPoint. I did come across info on validating PowerPoint in WE but I cannot find it anywhere in my WE, I have the free version. Would someone be able to assist me?

You an do this in the Slide editor. You can overlay text boxes on media boxes.
